The clean energy revolution is happening right now, so we need to step up to the plate or we’ll get left behind.

Climate Impacts Labor

Unions strive to make lives better by protecting working people. When we cut pollution and invest in clean energy we make sure that union members will have jobs and healthier working environments in the future.

Just as the labor movement joined the civil rights movement, it’s now joined the climate movement. Global warming impacts working people here and across the globe – especially those with lower incomes. That’s why many of the leading unions in our state and the President of the Washington State Labor Council are supporting the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy and its campaign to transition to a clean energy economy.

We recognize that climate change and income wealth inequality are the two great crises that face us today.
Jeff Johnson, President, Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO
